Feed My Starving Children

By: Brenda Lopez

The sisters of Kappa Delta Chi decided to kick off the first week of school with service. They took on a volunteer project with a Christian non-profit organization called Feed My Starving Children. This organization focuses on proving hand packed food for children and feeding them with a nutritious meal. In just two hours our penguins have packed over 20 boxes. That is 720 meals alone our penguins have packed. In the two-hour shift all the volunteers have packed over 300 boxes and we able to sent 5,400 meals to starving children in 70 countries. Good Job Ladies!

Relay For Life

By: Veronica Nunez

Arizona State University’s Lambda Chapter, participated in ASU’s Relay for Life event. The event took place on Friday April 19, 2013. Service Officer, Gloria Valdez, planned the event, where the chapter sold too cute tutus to help fundraise for the American Cancer  Sisters stayed at the event for 12 hours to show their dedication, respect, and commitment to those who have been affected by cancer. The night started with a survivors dinner, followed by them introducing themselves to everyone at the event. At midnight the luminary ceremony began followed by the survivor’s walk around the track. The night was inspiring and magical with fireworks to kick off the fight against cancer.
